MathairAil is a support group established by, and for, women who have lost their children to adoption. We endeavour to support and care for each other within an atmosphere of shared mutual experience and respect. We meet in safety and privacy once a month to assist each other on our mutual journey. MathairAil aspires to the establishment of countrywide confidential support for women who have lost their children to adoption in the hope that the burdens of secrecy, fear, shame and guilt will no longer have to be borne alone and in silence. In addition, we provide support to our members as we make our way through the difficult and lifelong processes of search and reunion.
